Fun festival

-

A FUN festival that will bring a range of activities to villages in Renfrewshire starts tomorrow.

More than 100 events have been lined up for the Lochwinnoch Feel Good Festival, which kicks off with a samba drumming taster session led by Bloco Winnoch.

There will also be events in Howwood, Kilbarchan, Brookfield, Houston and Bridge of Weir.

In addition, organisers are to stage a Feel Good Fortnight from May 10 until 26, featuring a variety of recreational events, therapeutic workshops and creative projects.

Those taking part can look forward to the likes of free yoga, pilates, meditation and tai chi sessions.

The programme includes a Feel Good Fair at the McKillop Institute, in Lochwinnoch, on May 18, when there will be wellbeing stalls, massage and therapy taster sessions, street food, children’s crafts and refreshments available on a donation basis.

Jacqueline Quigg, project co-ordinator at organisers LEAP (Local Energy Action Plan), said: “Anyone is welcome to join us and book into our scheduled programme of events, wherever they live.

“Our mission is to make self-care accessible in these challenging times and we want as many people as possible to benefit from the activities offered through our festival.

“We will also be hosting another Feel Good Gathering later in the year, which will be a community-building day of festival fun with entertainment, activities and stalls. We’re looking forward to sharing details about this soon.”
