THORNABY travelled to North Yorkshire and South Durham ECB Premier League leaders Middlesbro­ugh, won the toss and decided to go first.

Danny Clark hit 42 from 39 balls, including seven fours, but they were all out for 116 after

33.4 overs.

James Lowe (3-23) and M Asghar (4-25) took the wickets.

Middlesbro­ugh’s Matthew Bell opened with 46 from 69 balls (including five fours) to lead his team to an eight-wicket victory, reaching 117-2 after 28 overs.

Great Ayton batted first when they welcomed Stockton to

Leven Park, but were bowled out for 150 after 45.5 overs.

M Roman hit 57 in 56 balls, including nine fours and one six, and Chris Hooker took 4-17.

Stockton came out fighting, openers Kevin Ward (40 from 24 balls) and Himanshu Mantri (41) getting them off to a great start.

Joe Hewison’s unbeaten 43 seeing them to victory on 153-4 after 29.2 overs.

■ DURHAM City decided to field first when they welcomed Littletown in the Readers Durham League.

Littletown were all out for 163 after 26.5 overs, which included 62 not out from Harrison

Lowther in only 34 balls.

Henry Sherwood (4-43) and Cameron Fyfe (3-43) were most effective with the ball.

City’s opening pair of Adam Khan (113 not out from 89 balls, including 16 fours and three sixes) and Fyfe (43 not out, including five fours) guided their team to a ten-wicket victory, reaching

165-0 in 26.4 overs.

Hylton travelled to Brandon and decided to go first with the bat, but were dismissed for 183 after 39.2 overs.

Matty Billyard opened with 36 and Lee Jackson added 84 from 83 balls (including 16 fours and two sixes).

The wickets were shared between the seven bowlers.

Brandon’s Gordon Muchall (81 not out) and Callum Appleby (38 not out) helped them to a winning score of 186-2 in 26.4 overs.

Visitors Esh Winning opted to bat first when they travelled to South Shields.

Stuart Hall (48 from 53 balls, including eight fours) and John Carmedy (67) took them to a total of 226-7.

South Shields were then bowled out for just 159.
