One hundred per cent recycled fabric, inner and outer storm flap on the main zip, and a roomy hood with full adjustment – there’s a lot to like in this lightweight waterproof designed for general hiking and everyday use. The design is uncomplicated, with two exterior pockets and side vents (both of which your hipbelt will obstruct), good Velcro cuffs that fit easily over gloves, and a nice long back length to protect your bum. There are reflective details on the hood peak and cuffs.
The lightweight material sheds light rain well but is only moderately breathable, as expected for 2.5L PU-coated polyamide. There’s a ripstop pattern for durability. It will wet out after two or three hours of heavy rain, making it more suitable for fair-weather use. The side zips make it easy to vent in warm conditions, although I’d prefer underarm vents instead.
The fit is baggy for the size. While the hood is large and offers good coverage thanks to a broad peak, there’s no wired support, limiting its usefulness in stormy weather (although it’s fine if it isn’t too windy). The exterior storm flap could do with some Velcro tabs to keep it closed.
Overall, this is a decent lightweight jacket for summer walking on less serious hills, especially if you like a relaxed fit. Its hood design and relatively low breathability make it less suitable for all-day wear in poor weather, though.
