With your back to the church, turn L and go R at T-junction. When road later forks, bear left.
About 430m after fork, take walled track on L. Beyond gate, continue ENE up pathless slope. Join broader path from R.
From trig pillar on Winder, continue on clear path. As it begins climbing from saddle between Winder and Arant Haw, ignore narrow trail to R. A little higher, though, bear R (NE) at more obvious fork. Bypassing Arant Haw, follow path onto Calders and then The Calf.
From trig pillar, head NW. As main path swings W, take less well-walked route NW.
On climbing from trail junction at Windscarth Wyke, keep to clearest path (NW). From Breaks Head, walk W along ridge.
From lower cairn on Fell Head, take path descending SW. As descent eases, turn L at junction of trails. Having crossed two small becks, bear R (SW) at fork. Aim for gate at wall corner.
Walk through folds and then follow line of field boundary on R. When fence/wall bends R, drop into ditch, keep close to wall for 30m, cross beck and follow it downstream. Crossing rough ground, go through gate on N side of beck.
Follow Beck House’s access track to road and turn L. Go straight over Four Lane Ends crossroads. Take next road on R to return to church.
