1 Walk through Troutdale and take path uphill through woods to top of King’s How.
2 Go south from summit and fork L to stile over fence. Veer R, cross ladder stile at wall and continue to top of Brund Fell.
3 Walk east to ladder stile at wall, turn R to meet bridleway at Puddingstone Bank. Turn L to Watendlath.
4 Cross packhorse bridge and take zig-zag bridleway climbing east to High Tove. Turn north to High Seat. Fork north-west from trig point to descend path on 5 west side of Ashness Gill.
Turn L at lane to Surprise View; then take path on R 6 through woods, cross footbridge and follow path steeply downhill to road at High Lodore.
