Allbirds’ new trail shoe is made from sugar, wool and tree fibre

Running shoe company Allbirds, which uses all-natural material for its footwear, has launched its first off-road shoe, the Trail Runner SWT.

This has a breathable upper made from wool and eucalyptus tree fibre, a midsole made from sugar cane, and a natural rubber outsole that gives all-conditions traction. The midsole provides stabilising support as well as cushioning, and the shoe has a sock-like collar to block debris.
