Unlike the other trousers here, these were new to me, and mostly performed well. They are a close, tailored fit but with masses of stretch in the fabric, so they soon adapted to my shape. I appreciated the short leg and not needing a belt, although if you do, there are belt hoops. The fabric breathes and dries fairly well, although these aren’t the most breathable here. The knees and inner thighs are reinforced, and everything is treated with sun protection. The material is part-recycled and it’s great to see heel tape for extra durability in the hem.
There are two hip pockets and one rear pocket, all with zips, all a little on the small side, plus cavernous, gusseted map style pockets on the front of the legs, which are made from a polycotton mix. Sadly, these were so large as to touch the top of the knee, rendering them unusable for me. You’d need to be taller than the short leg would allow for these to be comfortable in use. A reasonable budget option, but only if the fit is right for you.
