Car park in Alstonefield

Leave the car park, turn right up to the crossroads, then go left. Follow road and take the second footpath on the left; follow towards footbridge at the bottom of the dale. Cross bridge.

Left into Biggin Dale; follow to the road. Walk up the road and take second footpath on the right to Biggin pub.

Turn right at pub; walk along road until joining Tissington Trail from path left of road. Follow trail until car park near Alsop en le Dale. Then, after just over 500m, turn off the trail into the fields.

Keeping left, follow footpath through fields until you cross under the Tissington Trail again. Continue along the path until it turns into a road in Tissington, then continue onwards, past Tissington Hall and branch right along The Avenue.

Cross into Washbrook Lane and take path through field. If camping at campsite, take a left, walk through two fields and into woods to campsite.

If you’ve camped, retrace steps back to road from campsite, then through caravan field following footpath. Go through fields into Thorpe.

Turn onto Limestone

Way until Coldwall Bridge. Turn right, crossing through farmland until Dovedale.

Follow Dovedale through and cross the river at Ilam Rock. Walk through Hurts Wood and Hall-Dale to Stanshope.

Take a right. Follow track down and cross the road. Climb to Alstonefield and continue until hitting the road. Turn right and walk back to car park.
