Beinn Alligin, Torridon
“It was the coldest day in Scotland for many years, and I could really feel it as I trudged though deep powder snow high on Beinn Alligin.
“Progress was slow, but I reached the second Munro summit an hour before dark. The view was one of unbroken snow cover in every direction.
“With a painfully cold and unremitting easterly wind pummelling me, I managed to watch the pink glow of the sunset wash over Torridon, before starting the lonely descent through the dark.”
