Artilect Boulder 125 Crew
Newcomer to the market Artilect promises unrivalled “performance, comfort and durability” with its debut base layers, made from an ultralight Nuyarn 125 merino wool. The key to this technology is not twisting the life out of the merino. Rather than using ring or core spinning, which can leave merino a bit itchy and susceptible to holing, Artilect instead uses a new spinning method known as Nuyarn.
This uses longer fibres and drafts them along a performance filament without twisting. Judge Lucy Wallace was impressed, stating: “It’s clever and counteracts many of the common drawbacks of merino. It feels very soft and stretchy, and is quicker drying than some merino products.”
