Garmin launches version of its satellite communicator

Garmin has unveiled a new version of its popular satellite communication device, the inReach Mini. The Mini 2 provides up to 30 days’ battery life and features include two-way text messaging, location tracking, interactive SOS messaging and weather updates. The inReach Mini 2 costs £350. Active satellite subscription plans start at £12.95 per month. Garmin also has a new Instinct Solar GPS watch. The Instinct 2 Solar is built to military standards for thermal, shock and water resistance, and has a scratch-resistant display. With sufficient solar exposure the watch can provide GPS functions for over two months of battery life. The watch costs £300. garmin.com/outdoor
