Cwm Pennant, Snowdonia
“With their distinctive aroma and colourful appearance, a carpet of wild bluebells is one of the greatest springtime treats awaiting visitors to our countryside.
“My favourite time to visit Cwm Pennant, on the western fringes of Snowdonia, is in late spring, when the hillsides here are swathed with these beautiful wildflowers. Catching them at their peak can often involve a little ‘trial and error’ as bluebells flower between midApril and the end of May depending upon weather conditions.
“This image was taken during my fifth visit to Cwm Pennant that spring, where the vibrant blue flowers make a wonderful foreground for the col of Cwm Dwyfor and the mountains of the Nantlle Ridge beyond.”
