LOOK MUM, NO RUCKSACK

This was Norman’s second outing with his norucksack running kit, as featured in the September 2021 edition of The Great Outdoors. These are the key components of the system:

Shelter - Six Moons Gatewood Cape with 5-section carbon pole. It offers 360° protection more akin to a tent flysheet than a tarp. It can also be worn, which could be a life-saver in an emergency.

Bivvy bag - Terra Nova Moonlite. This is a thin waterresistant bag cover with a face mesh. It keeps the bag dry, resists draughts sneaking under the flysheet and gives backup protection if the tent couldn’t be pitched or was flattened by gales.
