Temperature ratings
In addition to the brands’ own temperature usage recommendations, sleeping bags have three tested and certified outside temperature use ratings: Comfort, Comfort Limit and Extreme. Comfort indicates a temperature where you can expect a good undisturbed sleep; Comfort Limit is as low as you can expect a decent night’s sleep; and Extreme indicates the temperature where the bag should keep you safe but not comfortable enough for a night’s sleep.
