Longsleddale road end at Sadgill, (GR: NY483057): room for a few cars to park where the road becomes a rough track

Walk N up rough track leading higher into Longsleddale.

Beyond gate, path heads roughly W. After about 550m, it leads to edge of Wren Gill and fades away. Walk up E bank at first. At first confluence, follow R-hand branch (NNW).

At second confluence, cross and follow L-hand branch (WNW). At head of beck, continue in same direction to ridge fence on Harter Fell’s summit.

Take cairned path heading W from summit.

Turn L at Nan Bield Pass shelter, soon descending zig-zagging path into Kentmere.

About 2.9km beyond Nan Bield Pass, cross footbridge over Ullstone Gill and bear R along stony path beside wall. Clear path later ends, but route continues along grassy ledge.

Dropping to buildings at Overend, turn L along lane. After 280m, bear R to stay close to wall. At junction, turn L along partially surfaced lane. Turn R at T-junction.

After 165m, take byway on L. When this later drops to T-junction below farmhouse, turn R. Cross bridge over River Sprint to return to where walk started.
