James Roddie

is a professional photographer based near Inverness, and is a regular contributor to TGO. He has spent much of his summer in the mountains of the North-West Highlands, along with backpacking a 170km route through the Swiss and Italian Alps. In this issue, he recalls a perfect winter mountain day (p24). James is looking forward to another busy Scottish winter and crossing his fingers for good conditions.
