Montane launches technical Gore-Tex jacket range
Montane’s new Phase range offers lightweight protection from the rain. The mountaineering-orientated Phase XPD jacket weighs 470g, costs £450 and is made from 40 denier Gore-Tex Pro in the main body plus tougher 80 denier across the shoulders, hips and elbows. Costing £100 less, the Phase XT jacket is made from 70 denier Gore-Tex. Both jackets have a rollaway hood with stiffened peak, articulated arms, pit zips and handwarmer pockets. Both have chest pockets too: external on the XPD, internal on the XT. Next up, the 430g Phase jacket is made from 40 denier standard Gore-Tex and costs £300. At the same price, the 300g Phase Lite is made from 30 denier Gore-Tex and doesn’t have pit zips or a chest pocket. montane.com
