Mar­cos found guilty of cor­rup­tion charges

Imelda Mar­cos, the for­mer first lady of the Philip­pines renowned for her lav­ish shoe col­lec­tion, has been found guilty of seven counts of cor­rup­tion dur­ing her 20 years in of­fice. Mar­cos, 89, pic­tured, faces be­tween six and 11 years for each count of cor­rup­tion. The court case has been run­ning for two decades. The charges re­late to pri­vate foun­da­tions set up in Switzer­land from 1968 to 1986.
