Thugs attack couple in garden

TWO hooded thugs stabbed a man in his garden then attacked his wife in a Glasgow suburb.

The man was threatened with a knife, then slashed and beaten when he confronted two yobs who were lurking in his garden in Bearsden. The attack took place at 11pm on Saturday.

W he n h i s 4 4 - y e a r- o l d wife came out to help, the youths lunged for her as well. She was unharmed but badly shaken.

The man was taken to the Western Infirmary in Glasgow, where he was treated for wounds to his upper body and legs.

The suspects are thought to be aged between 16 and 18.

One had short, dark hair, was slim and wore a checked white hooded sweatshirt.

The other had dark hair, was stocky and was wore a black, hooded sweatshirt and dark trousers.

D C A n d y Hu n t e r , o f Strathclyd­e Police, said: “This was an extremely violent a n d t o t a l l y u n p r ovo ke d attack on this man and his wife in their own garden, leaving them both extremely shaken.

“I believe that the suspects were knocking other doors in Boclair Avenue before the incident looking for a named female.”
