Stuck in a rut
DAVID Thomson, a regular driver on the miserable potholed stretch of road south of Sandford on the Strathaven to Kirkmuirhill route, was delighted when temporary traffic lights were set up and a squad of workers moved in.
As the ruts and crevices were growing by the day, David felt a car-mangling accident couldn’t be far away – so top marks to South Lanarkshire Council for taking action.
Two days later, though, the temporary lights and cones were removed. The workmen had merely been putting up two new triangular signs warning of “uneven surfaces”.
Problem solved, then.
