Prison inmate dies in hospital

AN inmate at Scotland’s newest prison has died in hospital. John Wilson, 45, who was convicted of a serious assault and drugs offences at the High Court in Edinburgh in 2011, was taken to St John’s Hospital, in Livingston from Addiewell Prison in West Lothian. The matter will be reported to the procurator-fiscal. A fatal accident inquiry may be also be held. His next of kin have been notified.
