Call for a rethink on Euro bailout

LISBON: Portugal should renegotiate the terms of its €78 billion international bailout as its programme of budget austerity has failed, Socialist party chief Antonio Jose Seguro said. The Socialists, who struck the original deal with international creditors in 2011, say there can be “no more austerity” following recent tax hikes.
