TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS

LIGHTFIELDS

STV, 9pm THERE’S nothing like a good ghost story, and for those who loved Marchlands, prepare to be creeped by another spookfilled house, and the same format of generation-jumping. This time, we’re in Suffolk and again we span three time periods. We see a house up in flames, a crow in the bedroom, and almost everything bathed in an ethereal light. Dakota Blue Richards, Sam Hazeldine and Jill Halfpenny are among the stars of this erie, compelling drama.

JOHNNY KINGDOM AND THE BEARS OF ALASKA

BBC4, 9pm WHAT Johnny Kingdom wants to film, more than anything, “is bears catching salmon”. “If I could do that, it would be a dream come true.” The wildman of Exmoor is travelling with wife Julie to Kodiak island, Alaska, to see the bears and other animals there. It is, of course, a pleasure to watch the creatures that Kingdom films, but more than anything the real wild treasure is him.
