GKN reports record year

-

DUNDEE-based food and drink wholesaler CJ Lang has won the top award in the Scottish wholesale industry’s main recognition scheme. CJ Lang, which owns 114 Spar stores in Scotland and supplies a further 187, was named Champion of Champions at the 2013 Scottish Wholesale Achievers’ awards. ENGINEERING group GKN, which makes drive shafts for almost half of all new cars, delivered record results but admitted it would have to cut costs in the face of a weakening European automotive market. Redditch-based GKN achieved a 13% rise in revenues to £6.9 billion in 2012, while pre-tax profits firmed 19% to £497 million.
