‘Strangler’ rapist is facing life in prison

A RAPIST is facing a life sentence after he was convicted of choking three teenage victims during brutally violent assaults.

Christophe­r Nelson, 31, told one victim he “enjoyed” strangling people.

He was found guilty of one rape, two sexual assaults and two serious assaults.

The High Court in Dundee heard Nelson sexually assaulted his first victim – then aged 17 – in April 2007.

Nelson went on to rape a second girl – then aged 16 – after befriendin­g her online when she was aged 14. That attack took place in a Dundee flat last November.

The attacker was further convicted of violent assaults on two other girls. One – aged 17 at the time – told how she had met him at a hotel. The woman said she had to flee naked from the hotel room. He choked and punched her before she blacked out.

His fourth alleged victim was16 when she was attacked by Nelson. She was choked before being attacked on the landing of a flat.

She told how Nelson “demonstrat­ed” how he would strangle someone, suggesting he “enjoyed” it.

Nelson, 31, of Dundee denied nine charges. He was convicted of eight of the charges and not proven on one rape charge.

He was remanded in custody to be sentence at the High Court in Edinburgh on September 17.
