AG Barr chief’s pay rises to nearly £1.1 million

AG Barr chief executive Roger White has seen his pay reach almost £1.1 million after increases in his annual and long term bonuses.

The Irn-Bru maker’s annual report shows Mr White was paid a £421,000 basic salary in the 12 months to January 25.

On top of that he received an annual bonus of £320,000, long-term incentives which paid out £196,000, pension contributions worth £108,000 and other benefits to the value of £30,000.

AG Barr posted a rise in underlying pre-tax profits in the year from £38.1m to £41.2m on the back of revenue rising from £254.1m to £260.9m. In the prior financial year Mr White was paid £989,000.

The annual report states Mr White and other executive directors will receive a three per cent increase in their basic salaries. That will take Mr White’s to £434,000 with finance director Stuart Lorimer, who joined in January, seeing his increase from £250,000 to £256,000. The annual report also shows average staff numbers increased from 999 to 1,048 with employee costs rising from £42.2m to £44.6m.

Alex Short, who left his finance director role at AG Barr in August last year to join drinks group Edrington, was paid £283,000 during the year including an annual bonus of £104,000.

Commercial director Jonathan Kemp received a total of £558,000, up from £503,000, including a £168,000 annual bonus and £104,000 of longterm incentives.

Supply chain director Andrew Memmott was paid £504,000 including a bonus of £149,000 and £93,000 from a long-term plan. His pay package was £468,000 in the prior year.
