Cricket great stranded after he misses last bus

-

HEis one of the greatest cricketers of all time, but was Sachin Tendulkar out LBW — Last Bus Went (pardon the grammar) — during a visit to a rural English village?

The former India captain, 42, the highest-scoring batsman ever in test cricket, asked for help from his fans on social media after appearing to get stuck in Great Haseley, near Oxford, on Saturday.

He posted a montage of pictures for his more than seven million fans on Twitter and Instagram yesterday, showing him casually dressed at a rural bus stop, accompanied by the message: “In Great Haseley, Oxfordshire. Missed the last bus, can anyone give me a lift??”

The message was retweeted more than 400 times and he was deluged with messages and offers of help.

It appears Tendulkar, also nicknamed the Master Blaster, sorted himself out in the end. He later tweeted a picture of himself in shades outside a church, with the message: “Enjoyed Oxfordshire.”
