Dog walker, 42, savaged by mastiff

A DOG has been seized by police after it attacked a woman and her dog, killing the victim’s pet.

The victim, a 42-year-old woman, was walking her dog, a long-haired chihuahua, in High Wycombe, Buckingham­shire, at about 7.45am yesterday when a large brown mastiff dog attacked her, injuring her so badly that she required urgent hospital treatment.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: “The offending dog caused serious injuries to the victim’s right hand and left arm.

“Sadly, the victim’s dog died during the incident.”

Police later seized a dog at a property in Tilling Crescent.

PC Bushra Sheikh said: “I would like to reassure local residents that this traumatic incident is being thoroughly investigat­ed.”
