How the BBC viewing figures stack up

Large audiences watched the Commonweal­th Games on BBC television with live coverage reaching 78 per cent of the audience in Scotland – 3.6 million people.

The opening ceremony attracted a maximum of 1.8 million Scottish viewers, with 9.3 million tuning in from the rest of the UK.

Reporting Scotland remains the most watched TV news programme in Scotland.

The week of the referendum set a new high in weekly UK unique browsers visiting BBC News Scotland online: 13.2 million.

There was a 16 per cent yearon-year increase in the number of browsers accessing our News Online services.

In the lead up to the referendum, 10 televised debates from around the country were presented by James Cook. The Kelvingrov­e (Salmond v Darling) debate was watched by 860,000 viewers in Scotland, a share of 33.3 per cent, the highest for a political debate in Scotland.

The weekly reach of Radio Scotland declined from nearly 22 per cent in 2002 to 20 per cent last year.

After 10 series, the last episode of Waterloo Road, shot latterly in Greenock, was broadcast on BBC Three in March 2015.

The broadcast of the live stage show of Still Game in November, attracted an average audience of 1.2 million viewers and a share of 45.6 per cent.

On February 1 the first Old Firm match for nearly two years was watched by 750,000 people on BBC One Scotland, a viewing share of over 55 per cent.
