Missing man’s family in 25,000-poster plea

-

THE family of a man missing for nine weeks have put up more than 25,000 posters in a bid to find him.

John Murphy, from Dennistoun, has not been seen since he vanished on May 12. His wife yesterday marked the couple’s 20th wedding anniversary without her husband.

Mr Murphy, 52, went missing on May 12. He was last seen by his family at their home in Craigpark Drive before he went to bed the night before.

He is believed to have left his home early, and was thought to be heading to work at Easthall Park Housing Cooperative.

However, he never arrived and his family raised the alarm later that evening when he failed to return home.

His wife Trisha said: “It’s our 20th wedding anniversary and I don’t know if I will cope not spending it with John.”

The poster campaign, organised by family and friends, has seen information displayed across the city.

Mr Murphy’s son, also named John, has been leading the search and vowed to do everything possible to bring his father home.

He said: “We have had at least 25,000 posters printed and displayed across Glasgow, including on buses.

“Some people have also been making their own posters, as far north as Inverness and as far south as London.

“He has to be out there somewhere.”

Chief Inspector David Pettigrew said: “I’d like to ask the local communities of the east end to get in touch with us if you have any information which could help with our inquiry.” A FORMER teacher has been charged with making indecent images of children at a boarding school and another property.

Jonathan Thomson-Glover, 53, who taught at Clifton College in Bristol, has been charged with 36 counts of making, taking and possessing indecent images of children. It is understood the charges relate to more than 120 victims who were allegedly filmed at Clifton College and an address in Cornwall over a 16 year period.

Mr Thomson-Glover, of Wadebridge, will appear before Taunton Magistrates’ Court on July 20.

Detective Inspector Andrea Kingdon, of Devon and Cornwall Police, said: “Information was initially passed to Devon and Cornwall Police by the National Crime Agency relating to indecent images of children downloaded from the internet.

“Following further inquiries, a team of officers from both forces investigated offences relating to the creation of indecent images.”
