Biffy Clyro fans clean up

-

FANS of Scots rock band Biffy Clyro have cleared the rails of a charity shop in less than 30 minutes after the group donated a box of clothes.

Fans found out via a tweet from the group that they had given Converse shoes and stylish trousers to Oxfam Music in Byres Road, Glasgow.

Manager Andrew McWhinnie said they raised £600 from the sale, adding: “It was magic to get the call.

“We opened up at 10.30am and had people wrapped right around the shop in an orderly queue.

“It was all really good natured. We had French, German and even American people turn up looking to buy some of the clothes and one of them told me they were going to cut up a pair of the trousers and send little patches out to members of the fan club back home.”

The shoes were originally priced at £12 and the trousers at £10 but Mr McWhinnie soon had to raise the price due to demand.

Although nothing was advertised for above £30 for the items, many fans still donated more.
