How was it for you revellers?

HOPE you had a good one. A point from a reader who asks: “Do you realise that last night was the only night of the year when the media describe people going out as ‘revellers’. Every other night we’re just people going out.”

And the caustic Frankie Boyle declared: “Hogmanay – the night that Scottish people drink enough for other Scottish people to seem attractive.”

But we’re not all as miserable as Frankie – hopefully.
