Bannan set for return to Alba

-

BBC Alba’s drama series, Bannan, based on the fictitious island community of Camus but shot in Skye, returns in the new year with some new characters.

The first series told the story of Màiri MacDonald returning to her island home after eight years previously, and in the new series, Màiri meets her estranged friend Sarah Jane (played by Angela MacKay). Another newcomer to Camus is Isla, played by Mairi Maclennan.

Co-funded by MG Alba and Creative Scotland, Bannan is filmed on the Isle of Skye and is produced by The Inbetweeners’ Chris Young and directed by Tony Kearney.

Bannan was the first drama series to be produced for BBC Alba and debuted at the Edinburgh Film Festival last year before being broadcast on the channel last autumn. Bannan series two starts on January 6 at 9pm. mgalba.com
