National Velvet Radio 4, 2.15pm SOPHIE Rundle, John Sessions and Alison Steadman (above) head the cast of this two-part adaptation of Enid Bagnold’s much-loved tale. Velvet is 14 and mad about horses, and can’t believe her luck when she wins a beautiful piebald beast in a raffle. It soon becomes obvious that the animal is very special indeed, and has the potential to be Grand National winner.
