Tributes to financier’s son after Alps tragedy

-

TRIBUTES have been paid to the son of a Scots millionaire financier who died after a skiing accident in the Austrian Alps.

Douglas Tulloch, 29, reportedly suffered serious head injuries after falling 50ft at the luxury ski resort of Zurs.

Mr Tulloch is the son of renowned investor and Edinburgh fund manager, Angus Tu l loch, who donated £250,000 to the Yes campaign ahead of the 2014 independence referendum.

Douglas Tulloch, who worked for a business consultancy in London, was holidaying in Austria on March 17 when he is believed to have lost control on the slopes before crashing over a sheer rock face.

He was rushed to hospital but did not survive his injuries.

He is survived by his parents, Angus and Sophie, who live in Longniddry in East Lothian, and by his three brothers, Geordie, Hector and William. The family have been too upset to comment publicly on Douglas’ death.

Friends paid tribute to the 29-year-old on Facebook and have organised a football match in his honour.

He was a popular member of Sunday league side, GMGN FC.

Teammate Alex Baggallay described the Scot as a “key part of our team” who had “scored the best goal in our club’s seven-year history earlier this year”.

Mr Baggallay added: “We want to play in honour of him. We would welcome all of his friends to come down and cheer the team and Doug on to make it a special tribute.
