Householder sought after body recovered
probing a suspicious death in a property in Glasgow’s South Side are trying to establish the last movements of its householder.
Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team has launched an inquiry after a body was discovered inside a flat in Kenmure Street, Pollokshields, at about 9.50am on Thursday.
Officers said the body of an unidentified man has been recovered from the flat and a post-mortem examination is due to take place.
Investigators say it is a priority to confirm the identity of the deceased while trying to discover the movements of householder Gordon Bolam.
Detective Supt Duncan Sloan said: “It is important any sightings of Mr Bolam are reported to police to confirm his wellbeing. The time of the death is unascertained at present however we believe that the death may have occurred within the last two to three weeks.
“Any information on Mr Bolam’s last known move- ments is essential to this inquiry, and I would ask anyone who knew Mr Bolam, or who remembers seeing him in the last few weeks to come forward to police as a matter of urgency, as they may have details that will assist this investigation.”
Extensive police inquiries are ongoing to establish more details on the death and detectives have been carrying out house to house enquiries and reviewing CCTV footage to gather more information. Specialist forensic teams have been conducting enquiries at the scene.
A couple living in a flat in Kenmure Street said police questioned them about their neighbour, who lived in the first-floor flat.
They said they last seen the man about two weeks ago and he had only lived in the flat for three months.
Detective Mark Henderson said: “I am seeking the assistance of the community. I am asking them to think back over the last two to three weeks – did you see or hear anything unusual?”
