ACTOR Ken Stott has married his American artist fiancee in a romantic Scottish-themed ceremony.

The Inspector Rebus star, 61, got hitched to Nina Gehl in front of a small group of family and friends in London on Sunday.

The pair have been dating for more than seven years and London-based Nina is 18 years younger than Stott at 43.

Among the guests at the ceremony was Labour peer Lord George Foulkes, a friend of Stott’s through their mutual love of Hearts FC.

He tweeted a photo from the wedding with the message: “Great to join Ken Stott and Nina Gehl for a highland wedding in Kings Cross!”

Also at the service was Iain MacLeod, a leading figure in the Foundation of Hearts movement which helped saved the Edinburgh club. He posted: “Congratulations to good friend & #Jambo Ken Stott on the occasion of his wedding to the lovely Nina tonight.”

Gehl has previously caused controversy with her artworks which are made from the cremated remains of animals.

She blends remains of cats and dogs unclaimed from vet clinics with oils and uses them to create portraits. Stott, who starred in The Hobbit film trilogy, has a son David, 31, from his first marriage which ended in divorce.
