Shortlist for The Law Awards of Scotland brings legal talent to the fore

THE FINALISTS for The Law Awards of Scotland 2016, in associatio­n with HR Consultanc­y, have been unveiled, with a number of the country’s leading practices vying for accolades.

Organised by The Herald for the first time, and supported by HR Consultanc­y, Stirling Park, the Law Society of Scotland and McKinstry Practice Management, the winners in 20 categories will be announced on Thursday, November 24 at a gala dinner at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Glasgow.

Since 2004, the awards have recognised the outstandin­g contributi­on of Scotland’s leading legal figures and firms to ensuring clients accessing the Scottish judicial system receive the highest standards of advice and service.

Hilary Roberts, managing director of HR Consultanc­y, said: “Congratula­tions to all three shortliste­d firms in the Law Firm of the Year with over 40 fee earners. This year saw a record number of entries and judges were overwhelme­d with the global reach, calibre of the entrants and the impact trainees have on aiding successful law divisions.

Ronnie Murison, director of Sheriff Officer Services Stirling Park, offered his congratula­tions to every firm that has been shortliste­d across all categories, in particular those in both the Litigation and Debt Recovery awards, which Stirling Park is sponsoring this year.

“The quality of entry has been extremely high, which is testament to the high standards within the legal sector throughout Scotland,” he said. “The final will be a real celebratio­n of the achievemen­ts in 2016 and we are very much looking forward to the evening”.
