Kitten rescued for Christmas
A FESTIVE kitten had to be rescued by firefighters after it became stuck inside a chimney.
Little Ker, a four-month-old tabby, was lodged up inside the stack, sparking fears she may be stuck out in the cold over the Christmas period.
But after a call to the fire service, and a little tender loving care from the firefighters, the brave cat was eventually freed from her ordeal.
Her owner Jane Swan Burrell, of Longniddry in East Lothian, admitted she was in a panic when she was forced to call out the fire service around 8am on Tuesday.
Ms Burrell, 43, said: “It’s hard to put into words how relieved I was to see her.
“Enough to say I burst into tears and couldn’t thank the firemen enough who came out to help us.
“She is only four-and-a-half months old and she’s tiny, so we were really frightened for her being outside or lost.
“Santa obviously has a bit of competition about who gets stuck in the chimney!”
