Machray set for Folk Club show
EDINBURGH Folk Club returns to action early in the new year with Lothian-based singer and songwriter George Machray appearing on Wednesday, January 4.
Machray has won a number of prizes for his quirky ditties and more poignant ballad writing. He has won the audience cup at Edinburgh Folk Club’s annual song writing competition twice, in 2012 and 2016, and recently added to the trophy for the funniest song at Glenfarg Folk Club’s song writing competition.
He is followed by Glasgow-based bluegrass and Americana specialists the Daddy Naggins on Wednesday, January 11 and young quartet Tannara on Wednesday, January 18.
The club stages its annual Burns Night on Wednesday, January 25 with music by popular folk club attractions Haggerdash.
