-

A MAN is to stand trial accused of “dangerously” driving his car into the side of a house.

James Easton, 72, is alleged to have mounted a pavement in Cupar, Fife, on February 9 this year before ploughing into the side of a bungalow.

The smash is said to have caused damage to the blue Honda Civic he was allegedly driving as well as injuring Christene Armit who lives in the property.

Pictures of the crash scene at the time show a huge hole punched in the side of the building with the car wedged half-way inside.

Easton, 72, of Robertson Road, Cupar, denied a charge of dangerous driving on summary complaint when he appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court.

Defence solicitor Theo Finlay said: “He maintains his plea of not guilty.”

Sheriff George Way continued the case to a trial date next month.
