Man jailed for string of sex attacks

-

A SEX predator who carried out a rape at a hospital’s nurses’ residence has been jailed.

Andrew Ferguson attacked his victim at the complex at Dundee’s Ninewells hospital in 2000 before going on to rape another woman years later.

Ferguson, 35, of Station Road, Cairneyhill, in Fife, had denied a string of sex charges during a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh.

But a jury convicted him of eight offences including rape, attempted rape, indecent assault and assault against three victims between 2000 and 2014. Two of the women he assaulted were sleeping when he assaulted them.

Judge, Lord McEwan, told Ferguson he had to get a background report on him before sentencing because he had not previously served a prison term.

Ferguson was put on the sex offenders register and remanded in custody ahead of sentencing next month.
