Super typhoon to skirt capital city

CATADUANES ISLAND: A powerful typhoon was yesterday heading for a Christmas Day collision with the central Philippine­s. Nock-Ten intensifie­d into a super typhoon with maximum sustained winds of 108mph and gusts of up to 133mph as it headed for landfall over Cataduanes Island. It was then forecast to drag across and pass close to the capital Manila.
