Prospects are looking good at Castle View

- KEVIN SCOTT BUSINESS CORRESPONDENT

CASTLE View Ventures, the Bridge of Allan firm that manages local authority sports and leisure facilities across England, has posted record pre-tax profits of £9 million, up 66 per cent.

Revenue for the year to March 31, 2016 grew 14 per cent to £137m.

Castle View has interests including food production and catering management software, but the driving force behind the record results is its Leicestershire-based Sports and Leisure Management Group (SLM) subsidiary.

With a string of new contracts, SLM recorded a £5m pre-tax profit after a 14.2 per cent increase in annual turnover to £121m.

Elsewhere, Castle Views’s Cambuslang-based Uin Foods subsidiary, which makes pizzas for supermarkets, made a pre-tax profit of £1m on sales of £10.5m. Capital investment of £340,000 marked the first tranche of a multimillion planned expansion of the company’s capacity and product range.
