Trump resort plans gushing welcome for guests in multi-million pound renovation
US PRESIDENT Donald Trump’s Turnberry golf resort has unveiled plans to build another massive fountain to greet guests.
The tycoon’s family want to erect a Roman water feature outside the entrance to a new-look spa as part of a multi-million pound renovation project.
The latest monument will be a three-tiered cast stone fountain with a Roman goddess figure on top of it. The feature will also have a pool surround.
The project will involve lopping down a tree that currently sits at the entrance to the existing spa.
Extravagant plans for the Ayrshire resort’s spa include a waterfall at the swimming pool, a new Finnish sauna and a salt inhalation room. It will also boast Roman-style heated relaxation rooms, a Rasul mud treatment area and hydrotherapy ‘experience showers’.
The plans have been submitted to South Ayrshire Council. Mr Trump has already spent more than £200,000 on two new fountains at Turnberry since taking ownership in 2014.
Mr Trump, who also built the Menie golf resort in Aberdeenshire, resigned as a director of companies linked to his Scottish golf courses just before his inauguration as US president last month.
His eldest sons Donald and Eric have taken over control of his golf resorts in Aberdeenshire and Ayrshire.
