Pensioner, 80, killed at allotment store
AN 80-YEAR-OLD woman has been found murdered at an allotment.
The body of Lea AdriSoejoko was discovered in a lock-up store at the site in Sheaveshill Avenue, Colindale, north-west London, on Tuesday, the Metropolitan Police said.
Ms Adri-Soejoko, who was secretary of the Colindale Allotment and Garden Association, was reported missing at 1.40am.
Officers arrived at the allotment 25 minutes later where they discovered her body in the store.
Neighbour Danila Catruta said she believed Ms AdriSoejoko lived with a family member who she said reported her missing after returning from a holiday.
Ms Catruta, 39, said she used to see Ms Adri-Soejoko in her garden, and her murder had left her “scared” and “very surprised”.
“Since I heard about it I keep thinking about the situation. How can people do this?” she told the Press Association.
“I feel very sorry about what happened because no one should be treated like this.”
Cordons were in place on Thursday afternoon around the shed and out-houses at the allotment, which is next to a children’s nursery and a stone’s throw from the Metropolitan Police Training Centre.
A police car and officer were seen keeping guard outside the allotment buildings.
A post-mortem examination took place on Wednesday at Northwick Park Hospital, but the cause of death is “not being disclosed at this time”.
