Officers make plea in murder inquiry

-

DETECTIVES have appealed for the public to help them identify two men and four vehicles seen close to a house where a man was murdered.

Steven Quail, 42, was found dead after being attacked at his home in Greenend Avenue in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, at about 10.45am last Saturday.

He is thought to have become involved in a disturbance after answering his door to someone during a house party.

After carrying out extensive inquiries, including forensic examinations, doorto-door inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage, police said they would like to trace two people and vehicles that were seen in the area at the time.

The first man was walking down Greenend Avenue towards Craigview Avenue. He is described as a white man and was wearing dark coloured clothing.

The second was seen later and was also on foot. He was travelling in the opposite direction and is described as white, wearing dark coloured clothing and was in possession of a bag. Three dark coloured hatchback vehicles and a small light coloured vehicle are also being sought. SHE was one of the founders of the charity Zero Tolerance. Now, more than 20 years after her tragic early death, an exhibition is showcasing the powerful work of social documentary photographer Franki Raffles.

Edinburgh-based Franki was making a name for herself as a respected campaigning, feminist photographer, when she died in December 1994, aged just 39, as a result of complications from giving birth to twin girls.

She travelled the world photographing women at work and in their everyday lives, aiming to show their resilience, dignity and strength. Now her Observing Women at Work, exhibition is being shown at Glasgow School of Art from today until April 27.
