Academic’s live TV interview goes viral after being gatecrashed by his children

-

A LEADING academic who was interrupted during a live TV broadcast by his two children playing has become an internet sensation.

Footage of Professor Robert Kelly has been watched around the globe after one child burst into a room unannounced and proceeded to dance behind him.

Mr Kelly did a good job of keeping a straight face and continued to discuss the impeachment of South Korea’s president Park Geunhye yesterday.

But then an infant in a baby walker bounced into the room and Mr Kelly could not continue being questioned with the chaos unfolding behind him.

A second later, a woman could be seen sliding into the room to frantically gather the children and pull them out.

As the children were heard wailing in the background, Mr Kelly smiled, apologised and continued0 his segment.

Mr Kelly, from the department of political science at the country’s Pusan National University, was later asked by BBC News whether he would mind the clip being shared online.

He replied: “What would that mean, please? Re-broadcasting it on BBC TV, or just here on Twitter? Is this the kind of thing that goes ‘viral’ and gets weird?”

One Twitter user informed him that “ship had sailed”.
