The stairs that get us down
ON a recent visit to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary Queen Elizabeth Building, we were again struck by the disgusting appearance of the stairs by which outpatients and visitors must descend to the hospital from Alexandra Parade. The filthy state of these stairs, when encountered by an anxious patient, must surely heighten their anxiety before being reassured by the high state of cleanliness of the clinics inside. Would others who have attended the hospital agree?
Surely even a cash-strapped health board could and should afford to clean and keep clean the entrance to the prestigious Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
