Bar smoke ban comes into force

PRAGUE: The Czech Republic has started to enforce a ban on smoking in bars, restaurants and cafes, putting an end to the country’s status as one of the last havens for tobacco smokers in Europe. The ban, which also applies to places such as cinemas, theatres and sports venues, was approved by parliament after years of heated debate.
